Snow White & The Huntsman (2012)

This is going to be a quick review on the movie which I was able to see last night thanks to an early screening by Universal. I know that many (as well for myself before watching the film) are looking forward to the movie, but are not sure how well it might do because Kristen Stewart (of Twilight fame) involvement in the film. I was one of those individuals as well, but could tell from the previews that the movie might actually surprise me and do well.

Without ruining it for anyone who has not yet seen it before its actual release date (which is June 1st), I can tell you that it is definitely a summer movie one should go see. Although there were moments where I thought that Edward or Jacob might come on the screen, it was all in the way the cinematography was laid out. It is Snow White but a darker and somewhat different rendition than what we all might remember from our childhood. In all, the film had its dramatic parts, funny dwarf moments, action, and some eye candy for the men (Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart) and women (Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin). In light of the recent events that took place earlier this week in Ohio, it made me think back and look in my music library and P.O.D came to mind. In this particular case to the song Youth of the Nation which makes a strong impact especially during these types of situations that occur.

We all need to voice ourselves about these kinds of issues and try to find a way to help these individuals before the violence occurs. We live in a world were we may become to busy with our Facebook’s, Tumblr’s, Twitter, etc., that we may not be paying attention to our friends or family members who may be suffering and looking for someone to help them before their problems become to much to bear that they end up hurting others or themselves.

What Would You Do In This Situation?

Today on the radio I heard a news story of a woman (Meliha Avci, 34) who has been receiving dialysis for 12 years and was in urgent need of a kidney transplant. The crazy part of the story comes in when the person who donates a kidney is her husband’s girlfriend of FIVE years (Ayşe İmdat, also 34).

Meliha (the wife) had just recently found out about their relationship, especially since Ayşe (the girlfriend) has also donated blood for Meliha. Meliha was quoted in the article saying “We have shared blood, we have shared my husband and now we are sharing kidneys.”

I think I would definitely take the kidney, but then after I feel much better I would want to take care of some business with both my husband and the girlfriend.

Or I might just be happy with the fact that I am still alive, divorce my husband, and move on with my life. What would you do if you were in this type of crazy situation?

Stupid Hoe by Nicki Minaj

I had heard the song months ago for the first time, and wasn’t really feeling it because it was just all over the place and just not something that was not the usual Nicki Minaj material that I have come to like. This past week I have seen images from the video surface all over tumblr, but I also have not been hearing good things about both the song and video.

So today I finally decided to watch the video to see if it was as bad as I kept hearing; especially since the first time I heard the song I was not really feeling it. Watching the video today confirmed my dislike for this song, and whether this song goes out to Lil’ Kim or the many “Stupid Hoes” out there in the world I believe Nicki Minaj could have done a WAY better job at getting her point across.

This is obviously my opinion and I know there are plenty of die hard Nicki Minaj fans out there that will probably disagree with me. All I know is that the entire time I was watching the video until even this very moment I type this post, the dislike counter for the video on YouTube continues to increase!
